Next week marks National School Bus Safety Week, the annual program that calls attention to the importance of bus safety education, not just for students, but for parents, teachers, drivers and more. At Safety Stop, we are proud to promote school bus safety every day, with our affordable bus safety activities, supplies and games.
This year, the theme of National School Bus Safety Week is #StopOnRed, reminding other drivers on the road to come to a full and complete stop when a school bus stops and puts out its red stop sign.
The majority of school bus injuries and fatalities occur in the 10 feet directly surrounding the bus, in all directions, so it’s important for motorists, students and bus drivers to be aware and drive carefully near school buses.
To mark National School Bus Safety Week, the National Association for Pupil Transportation, or NAPT, sponsors a poster contest. This year, a middle school student from Kapolei, Hawaii, won with this great poster design!
Posters are an easy way to consistently reinforce bus safety in the classroom, the lunchroom or other high-traffic school locations. Visit the Safety Stop online store to see our full selection of posters.
